Bowls News - Week Ending 10th May

It has has been a slow start to the 2024 season at West Ealing.
Of the two home friendlies scheduled, the early season "dampness" resulted in the postponement of the Rosedale match. Against Hendon, our visitors went home successful.
In the Ealing and District 321 League, our defence of the Division 1 title got off to a disappointing start. Despite some battling performances, the visit to Brentham resulted in us returning empty-handed, losing 0-8. Our new B team started the Division 2 campaign by taking on Brentham "B" at home, but also ended up pointless.
The bright spot this week was the win in the London & Southern Counties Shield. West Ealing "A" took on Ashford "A", drawing the home leg 21-21, but winning at Ashford 25-17. This sets up a tie with North Sheen "A" in the 2nd Round
There were also good opening results for both Ad-Finem sides, with both getting 2-1 results - the "A" side beating North Greenford (home) and "B" beating Denham (away) respectively.
